For a return visit to Africa in January of 1998, I decided to visit Tanzania, the largest country in East Africa, situated just south of the equator. This safari would take me to several of Africa's premier wildlife parks and reserves; The Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara which is noted for its elephant population and tree-climbing lions. The Ngorongoro Crater is a superb place to view wildlife. They are mostly out in the open and being habituated to people you can observe interesting animal behaviour better here in the Crater than almost anywhere else on earth!
