I decided to visit India in March of this year. The national parks of Ranthambhore and Bandhavgarh provided me with superb viewing of the Indian Tiger. These forests have a rich diversity of flora and fauna including 300 varieties of trees, over 200 bird species as well as large troops of langur monkeys, spotted deer, reptiles and over 30 mammals. There is growing concern in India for the conservation of their rich heritage of wildlife and it is with the efforts of many that the tiger will not become extinct and continue to thrive in the magical forests of India.
